Default 2000 scrambler new piston help

my scrambler started to loose compresion. I took it apart and let a machine shop bore it half over stock . ireplaced all caskets and bearings. they told me to go up 2 jet sizes . it was a 290 i went to a 310. stock says 230. i cant get it started without putting fuel dirrectly in the carb .when it does start it is real sluggish .what should i do know to aviod a dealer?

if 230 is stock,i assume u would know - then 250 max. WHY is there a 290 jet in there? What has been changed from stock/what is leaking air?

a jet size 6 sizes over stock on a stock engine indicates a major problem-and a possible source of your compression loss
