Shipping Costs to Canada

I was wondering has anybody from Canada bought a tire and rim combo(or anything large for that matter) and had it shipped to their home in Canada? Is it worth the lower price or does the savings get eaten up with shipping, customs and duties? I am thinking about an ITP C series rim/Mudlight combo from the U.S. for about $625 CAN not including shipping. The cheapest I can get the same package here in Nova Scotia for is about $1000.

I live right on the border with Calais,Maine and cross over daily.
Canada Customs use's the daily exchange rate, then adds the GST.
$625 x 1.21%=$756.25 x 15%=$869.69
Then add the shipping and your near the grand mark.
If you buy anything not made in North America, then you have duty as well.
