Just wondering if anyone has had problems with the boots up front tearing. My left front boot tore this weekend and i heard a clunking sound just wondering also if that happens when the boot tears????

Tearing a boot happens now and then depending on your riding conditions, it sounds like you have a BIGGER problem. That clunking noise is usually a blown CV joint After you fix it invest a few bucks in a decent set of A arm guards to protect the boots. Hopefully your OK with a wrench, sucks paying the dealer to change a CV joint. Good luck, I just had to change one this weekend myself, I feel your pain.

I tore a boot of the front of my sportsman. Luckily I caught it before I damaged the joint. Got the boot fixed and bought a pair of stick stoppers for the front and rear. Have ridden a few times with them on and they seem to work very well. 49.00 a pair. 10 minutes to install. Worth the $$$..

i had the same problem your having. tore 5 boots in less than 200 miles. bought the strongmade stickstoppers and no problems since. i put the address on your other post about a arm gaurds. i have the dale jr eddition also but i think i got a lemon. good luck with yours. ive really enjoyed mine when i dont have to work on it. make sure you check all the fluids. my rear gear case was almost empty. you can also slide the rubber boots off the steering linkage and put you some grease on them and it wiil steer a lot easier. also the is two grease fittings on the lower part of the front struts for the ball joints. make sure the have grease in them. mine didnt.

I had some bad ripping problems with my rear boots, 5 over the course of 2 months. I put on some Polaris a-arm guards, and no problems since. Now that I've changed a few, it only takes me about 15 minutes to change it.
