Need to sell the '05 TL Pred, Not Happy :(

Well guys, after getting a good night sleep last night and dwelling on my options, I have decided to keep the Preddy. My one buddy talked some sense into me. Summer is around the corner and the wet mud will be gone soon. He says once summer comes, he puts the Sportsman away and rides his Raptor all summer. I am going to keep it and then next spring buy a '05 Sportsman leftover. The only other thing that sucks though is that my one friend bought a brand new Sportsman 800 (he has ridden it no more than 5 times, he only goes riding with us, so I know this for a fact) and he wants to already sell it. He wants to do some major stuff to his house this summer and he changed his mind about riding. He only wants $7500 for it!!!!!!!! He owns it free and clear and he has front and rear brushguards and a Warn 2500lb winch. I wish I had $7500 I could spend right now because it would be mine. Thanks for all the opinions and help, I am glad you guys helped me out.

johnnyz71, Your buddy has your best interest at heart. Buying the Sportsman just when conditions are getting ideal for the Pred would be a mistake I think. The other thing is that when you have a sport, you usually can't take the same lines the 4x's are running. I find that the IRS guys love to follow ruts and plunge into the deep goo. I ride the high spots and stick to the edges of the mudholes I can't avoid. Have fun with that Polaris! I still dream of a 4x4 for the winter though.

FT,
I am weird about buying used toys. I always like to buy new. I will just buy a new leftover '05 next spring. My preddy will be paid off by September at the latest, so I am not worried about that. I can't wait till the trails aren't muddy, I will have some crazy times then.

One of the guys I ride with has a z400 with old tires on the back and he keeps up with my scrammy no problems, most the time. I have ridden with others and they can't climb anything steep, go through a little mud, or not get stuck in the ruts. If you keep the pred, and get a good mud tire on the back(get rims with them) then just swap depending on riding conditions. Once you get used to the mud and how to ride around it or on top of it you will stop getting stuck so much. experience with your quad makes a huge difference.

keep the tires that are on the 05 tl. they are a VERY good tire. i think everybody was talking about the tires on the 04 tl. they were crap! the new tire are a good radial tire. they compare very well to my i-razrs. i get to ride my wifes 05 tl and compare the two. thats why i had to uy the podium x front shocks.

if you can get the 800, go for it, its the best ute in the world.
but dont spend the extra for the 700 if you can get a great deal on a 500. the 500 on average can stomp most 700's though oftain the 700's have a slight advantage. that 500 motor is the best, dont get my wrong, im a big twin fan, but i got both, and the 500 hauls. they have a 500 EFI comeing out for 06, so, you might want to splurge a little and get that. theres nothing like EFI.
