What is the best sand tire for a Predator?
Welcome to the forums.
I am running the Geckos. They are as good as the Sand Skate II's. Maybe a little on the heavy side.
I am waiting to see if they make a lighter weight Sand Skate II soon. My friend likes his Sand Stars, but I think they are also on the heavy side. JMO
These are all good tires mentioned, Skat Track may be the best...JMO...and they may be the most expensive...and they may have the thinnest carcass....and they may wear out the fastest since they are thin. They are aggressive, even the Edge (V-paddle). Paddles have been known to rip off. If money is not an issue, go with Skat Trac. JMO
The V-paddles will corner better in the dunes, so if you are mostly cruising I would get a V-paddle. If racing, get a lightweight straight paddle.
I would also recommend razors up front on a 4-stroke, helps cornering (and float). JMO
Sand Skate II's are definitely the tire I see most in the dunes at Glamis. They provide a very good compromise for dune riding, cornering, racing, durability, weight, and cost. Can all those guys be idiots?? JMO
Enjoy St. Anthony's !
