Will a 500 H.O. Carb work on a stock 97 sportsman 500??

It should work as long as your choke cable will screw in. I have an H.O carb on my 700 and the choke cable was different but it worked.

 

I got one on mine. Im not sure how much power difference it made because my cam was messed up when I changed it. It made a lot of difference with the jets, exhaust, cam and belt all together though. I can keep up with my buddies stock 700 till we get above 45 or so. plus mine wheelies a lot better than his!![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

did you have to change anything or did it just bolt up, did the throttle and choke cable hook right up?
