Default Bad U-joint and Yolk on scrambler 400

I just got this 2000 scrambler 400 4x4 and found that it has a bad u-joint on the right side drive shaft. From the looks of it it's been bad for quite a while. also the yolk is very loose on the front gear box output shaft. should I re-use the use yolk or will it eat up the new u-joint. One more question. Is there a good way I can tell if the cv joint is bad also. It's hard to tell if it is solid since there is so much slop in the axle from the bad joint and loose yolk. any ideas would be much appreciated. oh yeah and the hub fluid is leaking out of the oposite side hub from the inner most seal. will a new seal fix this or will I need more parts.

You might not need a new seal, check your hub fluid, if its more than half full there is too much in there and that will cause it to leak. Just take the set screw out of the hub and turn it to the 3 or 9 o'clock position. If fluid runs out then there is too much in there and you should drain it to where its half full or a little less then try it to see if it leaks anymore or not. If its half full already or if it continues to leak then you need the new inner seal. It was around $10 for mine. If your NEW U-Joint doesnt fit tightly in the yoke, then you should probably replace it. Why do you think the CV might be bad?

I'm not real sure about the cv joint. It seems pretty solid. The yolk itself is loose on the output shaft from the front diff so I wonder if I just replaced the u-joint would the slop from the yolk not fitting tightly on the splines of the diff cause my new u-joint to fail quickly.
I did just replace the hub fluid so I may have over filled it. It was dry when I went to change so that's why I figured it was a seal. When I pulled the bike out of my trailer I noticed a decent amount of fluid on the floor from the hub. I'll have to open it up tomorrow and see if there is any fluid left in it.

Thanks, I found a complete used shaft for 109 so i think I'll go that route then I'll have some extra parts from the old shaft that are still good in case something else goes wrong

Since your gonna go ahead and buy the new half shaft, go ahead and get new inner and outer seals for it. They dont cost a lot and since you will have it apart, go ahead and get it all taken care of. Remember not to over fill the hubs.

I went ahead and ordered new inners and outers for both sides. any idea of how many cc's of fluid polaris calls for in these hubs. I filled them with a 50cc syringe last time and think I used 50cc in each side.
