Default How do I fix this?

If it is expensive to fix I will be forced to attempt to fix it myself and if I cant I will sell it. I dont want to sell it because if I do I will just buy a another one (well the scrambler 500) because its the perfect atv for my girlfreind and I dont have any complaints myself on it. I guess I will know what parts I will need when they tell me how much to fix it on the invoice.

Remember to tell her to make sure the rear tires are not spining when she puts it in 4 wheel drive.

Send a PM to a user here named "thecvman" he will get you what you need to fix it for alot less than what the dealer would charge plus he'll give you some expert advice on how to fix it.

Good point crazyoldfart !!!!!! The ends of the axles do look clean, they usually get chewed up real good if the cv joint goes. Didn't you mention earlier you changed A arm bushings ? Get the book and a pair of boot kits and keep asking questions right here.

First of all i would like to say thanks to all of you so far on the help and support. I will make a reminder to myself and tell my girlfreind to remember not to put in 4wd while the rear tire is spinning. I dont think that was the problem though. I think I broke it like crazyoldfart said when I changed the a arm bushings. Shows what I know. I thought that would of been an easy job. My girl freind all ready feels bad about it because its going to take most of our vacation money to fix it that we planned on going to 4 atv trips this summer. I will no more once I hear what the dealer wants to fix it. If its reasonable i will have them do it so I know its done right (Hopefully). If not I will be depending on getting the manual and a alot of support from you all. I did call another polaris dealer in the area and they were about 9 bucks cheaper per hour but were farther away and I got two polaris fourwheelers from this dealer this month (polaris ranger for work, paid by company not me but i made the transaction), I also got alreadypurchased 800 dollars in clothes and accesories from them to and I am hoping i can get them to wave the diagnostic fees and discounts on the parts for the loyalty. If not I wont buy another part from there again. You can always tell a good dealer from there service after the sale.

Hey Hoopie,
I have the manual if you want to borrow it. I am always in Dearborn on business. Almost everyday. I don't think roseville mi. is to far from Dearborn. What dealer did you take your bike to. There is one in Woodhaven called Winner Motorsports. I have bought some parts from them and they seem to be OK. Just let me know if you want to borrow the manual. I will private message you my phone number just in case.

What happens if you just pull the axles out and get a boot kit and put the new boot on the cv joint, put some greese in there and put a short dowel in the skinny end to block it off. of course you'd only have 2wd but at least you'd still have something for the GF to ride.
Let's all hope for hoopie's sake that it's just a boot. that would be great. maybe the dealer can just replace the joints. Good luck hopefully everything works out for you. Make sure to let us know what you find out from the dealer.

I just called the dealer and they said they wont even be able to look at it until saturday or monday? What kind of service is that. Not fix it just look at it and tell me the cost! I think maybe I will pick it up and get a couple sets of boot kits and give it a try. What do you think? maybe if i talk to the manager I can get them to put a priority on this.

I woulsd say give it a try.
What dealer did you contact, LaBaron's? Dont bother with K&W.

BTW did you stay at Mack Lk campgrounds? I seen a few scramblers ride through there.
