325 Trailboss stage 1 jetting
Just got a stage 1 kit fom Ritter Cycle for my wife's 2001 Trailboss.
Trying to figure out which jet to use at sea level-500 feet. He sent a 127.5 a 140 and a 147.5.
Already installed the pipe, still have to jet and install the clutch spring.
It is not real easy to get to the carb to test and swap, I don't have much time till we go to the Oregon dunes for a week.
Anyone have experience jetting this kit? Thanks for the input.

Can't remember what jet I used on mine (old age thing). Remember, you can also use the disks in the exhaust to adjust some of the jetting issues. A lot easier to get to than the carb. Major pain to change jets on this model. Have a new (bigger) carb to put on, jetting should be a real blast on that. If I can remember I'll dig through my parts and see what's left, might be able to tell what's in there now.

I just put the stage 1 kit on my 04 trailboss this weekend. I used the 147.5 main jet thinking it would run to rich, which is much safer than running lean. I went ridding at the Badlands (Attica Indiana). After 5 hours I pulled the plug and it looked almost perfect. I also removed 5 of the 12 discs (adding restriction) from the White Brothers pipe. This actually made a huge improvement in low end preformance. Before I go ridding next time I am going to remove at least 1 and maybe 2 more discs.

Mcavs, what elevation are you at there?
I talked to Rick Ritter today, he said to run the 147.5 if using the 2 airbox vents that come with the kit, and the 127.5 if no vents are used.
I think the 140 would probably be for a higher elevation, with vents. I 'm not sure what to do about the discs, If I was riding it I would leave them in for the dunes, but with the Wife I'll probably take some out.
Thanks for the input.

Pistonman, I am within a couple hundred feet of sea level. You know Indiana, Flat, boring, corn, corn, corn, you get the idea. I put both airbox vents in following Ricks (sincker snicker) detailed instructions. Taking the some of the discs out will make it sound more like a quad with a pipe, and less like a POS with no muffler, in my opinion.

Hey Rick,
I have your Stage 1 Kit in my 03 330. I think you recommend the 147 main jet? I'm running a 145 main jet. Do you think that may be too lean? It runs great. I have not done the involved plug check after different speeds, but when I do check it, it looks good.
Oh yeah, I have vents, K&N, and am running with all the disks.
What do you think?
