Polaris 325 owners

Two mths ago we bought my son a new 2000 Trailboss 325, his first. Last Sat. when we were riding the inlet oil line from the cooler came off and he didn't notice it until the engine started rapping. I towed him home and tried to reconnect the hose I had a hard time making it reach. Machine goes back to deal this weekend to find out what damage is done.

This is an important recall and you should schedule your appointments ASAP.
The reason is; the 325 engine operates at 115 #psi and engines can be damaged very quickly if an oil line happens to come loose.
I've seen a few in the shop at my local dealer because of oil pressure losses.

I sent Polaris an email yesterday asking them about the 325 service bulletin, Here is there response:
Thank you for your e-mail to Polaris Industries Inc.
We released a service bulletin (ATV-00-03) for all 2000 325 motors and a few of the 2001 325 motors. If your dealer does not know about this they should contact the warranty department. They received a dealer fax about this
issue last week. service bulletins can be performed even if the unit is out of warranty.
Thank you.
I will be calling my dealer back shortly. I know I am always complaining about their crappy service, but this just proves it !!!!!!!! Glad to see Polaris standing behind trying to improve the quality of their machines, if only they could improve the quality of their dealers.

I just got off the phone with the service department at my dealer. I explained that I have a 325 trailboss and was reading the their was a service bulletin on the oil lines. He started to say "we haven't heard anything..." when I told him the service bulletin number, he didn't know what to say. He then gives me the excuse that the owner is on vacation and he opens all the mail and so the service bulletin must be on his desk. He took my name and phone number and said they would call me back when they know more. I am not holding my breath waiting on their call. I may become the biggest pain in the but customer that they have. Sorry for the rambling, but this just ticks me off. Glad I have don't have any riding plans in the next month while they get their heads out of their @sses.

Polaris needs to be told about this crap from dealers not knowing or pretending not to know. This hurt them in the end. I don't think people should complain about having to wait a day or two for a part things like that, but major engine damaging stuff. it is crazy.

I talked to 3 dealers in MN, one didn't know anything, one saw something about it but wasn't sure, the other had read it but said it stated that they didn't have to change anything, but just check so see that they are hooked up properly. He said if I brought it in he would put on "spring" clamps for free and check the lines. Does this sound right??
