Bill,
Sorry to hear about your problems. I have a friend in the car business, he was telling me once about this warranty deal works for the dealer. Acctually more like against the dealer. The warranty work is pro-rated according to the factory estimated time it takes to perform the work.(under perfect conditions with all the needed equipment and parts neatly arranged.)Anything over the dealer eats. So some of the more profit margine minded shop owners are less likely to welcome this work with open arms. Post warranty work and its we'll get right on it.

That really sucks that so many of you have these problems. I have had my share of "little" bugs but am satisfied with my Polari none the less. They are a blast to ride but a bit** to fix! Can't have it all I guess...

Maybe we, members of ATVCONNECTION and riding fanatics, are tougher on our quads than most "normal" riders. Gotta find some excuse!

Keep on riding...

Cappy,
im fully aware of how warrenty repairs work out.I used to be a Master Auto Mechanic back in the 80s.

Even flat rate [non warrenty] work goes on a time basis table provided by the book, however, when doing warrenty work, you get NO extras.

Perhaps Xplor is right,we ATV Conn. guys are just ANIMALS when it comes to riding our quads, [lol],

Odin,

When the bushings went out on my '99 sp500, I replaced them with the eurethane bushings from Auto Zone. They come 8 in a pack, which is exactly how many you need. They also come in black or red clear. I put them on and bottomed out the bolts holding them on. The eurethane bushings are much tougher and should last the life of the bike. Sorry to hear about the problems with your bike.

Bill,
When Polaris claims that the problem is the concentric drive, and will send you a new one, what are they referring to? To me, the concentric drive could be everything or anything from the transmission to the rear swingarm. Which part in particular are they replacing? I'm assuming it is the transmission, but this opens a new can of worms(questions). Such as: is the countershaft bent, bearings worn out, or did polaris just manufacture some bad trannies that somehow created the problem you're dealing with. I'm thinking that if it is in the tranny, then the problem isn't isolated to you, and Polaris is well-aware of the problem. Please see if you can find out as many specifics as you can to help us other Xplorer owners out. For example, if it is a bad tranny, if the shop would know the dates that these "bad" trannies were made, or if you just happened to get a tranny that was a lemon. Any info you can get to help us all understand the problem will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Waylan

Animals?

My mechanic told be I ride like a ****ing animal LOL. I guess I need a job as a Polaris test rider. He told me he has never seen anone put on 600 miles in one month. I told him if I buy the 4 year warranty my quad will have over 8,000 miles on it when the time is up.

Yo Walexa,

Do the bushings that you are referring to replace the rubber bushings in the swaybar setup?

Thanks for the information Waylan. I put on about 190 miles this weekend with no break downs. I will have to check out the bushings at Auto Zone.
