Default trying to decide

Hey Im trying to decide which unit to get.
a) 500 scambler or
b) 500 HO sportsman
I live in the desert in Arizona very hot. Do either of these quads have a heating problem?
There is also a lot of trails going up into the mountains besides your normal desert terrain.
As for sand dunes, there are not very many where I live. Another thing I'm a big guy 5'10
215# if this make any difference.
thanks for your help and stay safe.

Hey Chiefeng,

What you need to do is try them both so that YOU can decide wich one "feels" better to best suit your riding needs.
I live in Northen Ontario Canada where the terrain can get pretty harsh. My SP 500 is "primo" for my type of riding.......... Good luck and ride safe !!

Welcome to the fourms. Like paramedic said your probably need to ride both and see which you like. Also if your going to work it then I would pick the Sportsman if your mainly going to trail ride and play I would get the Scrambler. My 2 cents

The Scrammy will be faster and more nimble........the Sportsman will give you a duel range tranny, an independent rear suspension with far better ground clearance, full instumentation, have substantial storage and racks with mounting system for accessories.

So.......if you basically want to scream around and have fun......Scrammy.......if you want to go on road trips, do work with it, need storage and racks or want a machine that will "do it all"........Sportsman.

Ask yourself how you will use it and you'll have your answer.

Good Luck, Bob
