Default Grizzly or Sportsman?

I doubt a grizzly could out run a sp 600 or 700, i have never riden a grizzly because everyone i know have polaris but i am sure the sp 700 would spank a grizzly at least my 700 would with the mods and EFi because a cluch kit makes a big difference in throttle response and if i race someone my bike will pull the wheels off the ground easily for 50 feet willout me trying to do a wheely.

The H1 (cat) is worthy of consideration very tough rides great similar power to the grizz.

I would say if you dont want to spend 8k on an atv, great in mud, comfortable ride above all others and reliability then the SP500HO is the choice. The ho puts out about as much power as the 600 twin, lighter, and a very reliable motor.

I not sure where you saw this, but it's erroneous. There is no difference in final drive ratios between the twins.

hey Oleman, i thought i saw the ratios in the books they give out at the dealer. maybe it was gears in the tranny? there was a double page in the brouchure that had all the models listed and the features they have and specs. i'm not sure at what point the 700 would pull away from the 600. i've never raced mine side by side with a 700. maybe someone else can answer that one.

Thanks to all that responded to my post. I went out today for over 6 hours including drive time and drove all the big bores and others. I drove a SP500 H.O., SP600, SP700, SP700 EFI, SP800 EFI, Grizzly, BF750 and finally a Prairie 700.

I ended up buying the Prairie 700, which I have owned before. They were all nice and all had their advantages and disadvantages. In the end I choose the one that felt right to me.

I especially liked the SP800 EFI. I drove a Camo unit offered @ $8,300. I loved the power, but there were weird noises coming out of it. In the end, I felt it was simply too expensive compared to the Prairie which I took home for $6,000 OTD. I don't feel the Sportsman is $2,300 better than the Prairie. I know this will draw some fire. I'm not saying it's not a great quad because it is. I'm just saying I personally couldn't justify the massive difference in price.

Another one that surprised me was the SP600. I almost bought it. The power was stout for a 600cc machine. It felt very similar to the SP700. The price was $6,000 otd.
