is that a bad thing spyder? do you have something against 2 strokes? haha j/k but knoel, did you get big bucks site? if your dealer is going to charge you labor to tear your motor down, dont let him do it if its a good amount of money. Write me an email @ chevyboy392@aol.com and i will give you instructions on how it all goes apart and back together.

Got the big bucks site, have been all over it. Talked to them as well. I plan on talking to the dealer tomorrow regarding tear down only cost. Labor to rebuild was $450. Thanks for the offer, I will keep your email. Can someone with only shop 101 experience tear one down and rebuild?

its not that hard. Big buck has exploded views of the specific areas on their website. If you need help just ask me. Its a fuji engine right? getting the megneto case off is tough. there is a slotted nut that you will need to buy because you cant get it off without really screwing it up. if anyone has an easier way of getting off and on let me know too please. im still trying to get mine back together, machine shop should have mine back by tomorrow or monday, latest tuesday. thats what i get for drag racing on a cast piston. Yeah, the quad book isnt cheap tho. just use basic mechanic skills. doesnt take a rocket scientist. btw the nut is $15

At world of powersports they rebuild all engines including polaris atvs. they rebuilt my yamaha waverunner engine and did a pretty good job so far. Try them they probably will have a sportsman engine.

I found an individual located in Rowlett Texas through ebay. He rebuilds polaris bikes to pay for his hunting activity. Was able to get it repaired and running for about $1500. Initial estimate at the dealership was $2400 to start. I am back to my original problem now however, in that it runs hot, 225 degrees on a thermometer placed in the top of the radiator. Water pump is cycling the water, new thermostat was installed, fluids are full and new. Have any of you experienced this type of problem?
