Default CVT vs Manual

I rode a Yamaha Raptor last night. It has a manual tranny. I cannot tell you what a huge pain in the arss it is to do the kind of trail riding we do with a manual tranny as compared to the CVT.

It made me think back to when I first started riding in 1987 and got my Polaris Trailboss 250 with CVT. All of the Jap bike people laughed at it as if were a joke. DIRTWHEELS magazine relentlessly berated Polaris in general and dubbed the CVT something like "A non-serious trannsmission for real ATVs". What absolute foolishness.

It irked me back then because I really liked the CVT and my Polaris.

NOW look at the state of where things are.

im fine with manuals also, but once i got the scrambler the cvt is way more fun in the trails than a manual.
