Default Charging system on an 800 efi

Hi
I'm going to be buying a new 800 EFI this weekend. It is actually going to be my first quad, I know a bit much you say? Well I'm a big boy 260 lbs and 6'2" and have been riding motorcycles all my life (both dirt and street). I have a battery question. I have seen some things written about a battery meter on these quads. They do have a charging system don't they? Does it do a good job of keeping the battery charged? If so why would they have a battery meter instead of an amp meter or volt meter? Or is that what they have? Thanks for the help. Really been enjoying these forums.

soon to own an 800 EFI!

they have a stator to charge the battery at all time and will never go dead if you drive all the time with all the lights on. i have had my sp 500 for a year and i have never charged the battery and it has 450 miles in it.
