Which winch is which?
#1
Hi
I'm going to be picking up my new 800 EFI on Saturday and I talked the dealer into throwing in a winch for $99 uninstalled. I noticed that there are three different part numbers listed for winches for the 800 depending if you have no bumper, a bumper or the grill guard. What is the difference. My new quad wont have a bumper yet but I'm sure I will end up getting one and I want to make sure I don't run into fit problems with the winch. Anybody got any info on this?
Thanks
Cutty

I have a 2500# on my 800.
The bumper/no bumper deal is only an issue on the ATP and Gen IV Sportsman models (pre 04).
Your 800 has is prewired for a winch, meaning that the 6 gauge wires are run up to the front (but the positive is not hooked up. Installation time is less than half an hour and I've heard guys that have done it a few times can do it in about 10 minutes!

Hi and thanks, looking again at the Pure Polaris website I think I was looking at the winch listings for the ATP pickup style quad and not the Sportsman. Thanks for the reply.
