torn cv boot again, go aftermarket?
#1
After a post ride inspection, I found that I tore another cv boot. This is at least the 4th or 5th one I've replaced in two years. Do any aftermarket companies make replacement boots that are better quality = last longer than the oem Polaris ones?

I saw some Kevlar boots in the dealer's today. I don't think they replace the rubber boot, just goes on over it.
The BEST way to fix this problem I've found is to invest in a pair of Stick-Stoppers (or equ.) I put a pair on my SP and have had 0 problems since...and I run through some pretty mean cut-over.

I'm convinced that the "stick stoppers", or cv boot guards are actually causing my boots to keep tearing. I'm using the metal oxlite guards now, and I think what is happening is that the mud and rocks are building up on the guards and rubbing on the boots causing tears. That is the first time I heard of the kevlar covers. I'll definately ask my dealer about them.

Yamaha has the kevlar guards listed in their accessory catalogue. I've replaced two cv boots on my cat all the result of the oem cat accessory guards sheering them off. I've since modified the guards to work properly. The funny thing is I thought I'd go OEM with the guards to ensure "proper fit and function".
