what is different on the 99 scrambler 400 than the 2000, should i stay away from one?

they both have the concentric drive, the 2000 has improved suspension, and a bit longer travel. other than that, they'er the same. "I've read" on this forum about some transmision problems with the 2000. do a search of past posts on transmisions to see if you can see anything. I (until tonight) have had nothing wrong with my 99 Sport. Good luck

Some of the 2000 models came with the newer improved tie-rod ends. If you get the '99, you'd better plan on changing the tie-rod ends, along with the lower stearing post bushing. If you get the 2000, the stearing post bushing will need changed within a month. Both are cheap to do, and take about an hour each to do. I've had a 99 Sport more than a year, and other than those two things, nothing has gone wrong.

I own a 2000 scrambler 400 2x4 as far as I'm concerned it's a lot better than 1999's model when it was the sport. My buddy owns last years sport model and it does'nt stack up to mine.
POLARIS improves their ATV's every year and the 2000 scrambler 2x4 has noticable improvements over the 1999 sport model. Hey, I'm impressed!
LONG LIVE POLARIS!!!!!!!!!!
