Well, my 489's are also full of cuts and tears, as well as Fix-a-Flat. I have had 2 totaled 489's on my 250's. The ones on my 400 are not leaking, but they would be without the sealant.

I put the 25" Mudlite XL's on my SP400. They have been great so far. Very good on the hardpack and EXCELLENT in the mud. I was also looking at the 589's but after some research, I thought they were a little too aggressive for normal trail riding.

Thanks bytor. How do they look? Are they on stock rims or aftermarket? They are not too aggressive in the thick mud to spin them?

They are on my stock rims and I think they look great. I was in some thick mud this past weekend and I was spinning them with no problem in Hi. Got in a little deep, dropped into lo/4wd and just feathered the throttle. They hooked up and got me right out.

Great, I can't wait to get them on and take them for a ride to the general store, where the mud is.

How much was mounting? Do the higher-ply sidewalls protect the stock rims any better?

thanks

I mounted them myself. My neighbor has a setup to mount tires manually. It was a pain. I had my local car repair shop replace a tire on my other ATV for me for $8, so probably $30 for all 4. Should have gone that route.

As far as better protection, I really haven't noticed. Can't help you there.

I'm going to get the Polaris 14" wheel tire combo. It features 14" cast aluminum Vision rims with 26" Kenda "Bounty Hunter" radial tires. I just installed a clutch kit so I'm not too worried about turning the 26" tires. These tires are radials, have an all-around terrain tread and should handle awesome. Tires are 10" wide in the front and 12" wide in the back. This package is set up specifically for the Sportsman so the offsets should optimal and all mounting hardware is included.

Price is $630 for the complete package from your Polaris dealer. We are having a Sales Tax free day here in the wonderful Peoples Republic of Massachusetts ( unbelievable!!!) on August 13th so that will be the day they get bought.

Sounds cool, let us know how they work out.

I got mine on this morning. Got them mounted at VIP for 20 bucks.

I've only tried them on hardpack. So far, they feel stiffer than stock, little bouncier ride, but less lean and roll in corners. They are heaver, so I lost a good bit of acceleration. I'm hoping they'll be much better in the mud, though.
