driven clutch 98 scrambler 400

The spring on the new one is for a newer Scrambler and will work but will backshift a little faster.Set it at 2-2 or you can use the old red spring and set it at 2-2.

This secondary came from a 99 Sport 400, which seems to have the same parts in that area as the scrambler...
So... by faster backshift, do you mean it will decellerate faster when you let off the gas?
I guess also, I could just try the white spring and try the red spring... it's quick to change out, heh. That would let me know which one I like best

At second glance, maybe I won't be using this white spring.
I know the red spring is straight as could be, but this springs' ends are way off center...

OK, after more investigation, I found out this secondary came from a 99 sport with a HSP clutch kit.
After visiting their website I found a picture of the white spring and it is not supposed to be straight.
I guess I will try both
