Default chain and sproket help please.

My father has a 2001 trailboss and is in need of chain and sprokets. I remember reading once that people were not very happy with
polaris sprokets. Has that changed or was it never an issue. If not I would like your opinion on which brand of sprokets to get. We went to
hatfield/mccoy trails a year ago and wore out a front sproket in two days. It was fine before we left. I tried to get him to replace both sprokets and chain at that time, but the chain measured within specs so he didn't want to spend the money. The new sproket probably only has 5 to 10 miles on it and shows a little wear already. I believe I have talked him into total replacement but not out of buying polaris parts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Hosportsman

Default chain and sproket help please.

I ate up a set of sprockets the first month I got my scrambler. I bought a D.I.D x ring chain and new polaris sprockets. That was april of 03 and I still haven't had to replace them, and amazing I have only had to adjust the chain once. I think the most important thing is that you replace the front and rear sprockets and the chain all at the same time. Its more expensive in the beginning but it will pay off in the long run. Another thing to check is to make sure your chain is adjusted right.

Hope this helps
Nez

Thanks for the replies guys, he did replace everything. He tried to get sunstar sprockets and d.i.d. chain but the place didn't have both
sunstar sprockets. So he ended up with JT Sprockets and d.i.d. chain. Heading to the u.p. here next week so we didn't want any problems.
Hopefully the JT's are good sprockets. Thanks again guys your comments were greatly appreciated.
