The only problem i have is that the rear drive train has no slip so when I go around a corner both tires are pulling at the same speed.

Does this loosen up the rear end a lot on corners? Or is it not so noticable? That solid rear end is going to burn through tires...
i have over 2500 miles of road riding and im just ready to change tires, the fronts are bald but the back have a good 1000 miles left on them

Maybe quads just don't have the weight to kill the treads that fast? When you turn on an atv, there is usually enough lean to lift a good bit of the weight off of the inside rear tire.

2500 miles on one set of tires? I changed out the 489's on my sportsman after 1000 miles. They still had some tread left, but only about 1/2 to 5/8 inch. Not enough to keep me moving.
