Default Sluggish Trail Blazer since added HPD pipe

Hi,I have a 04 250 Trail Blazer and I put on the HPD pipe ,muffler,& used the 150 jet.I live in nevada where the temp gets pretty hot and I'm guessing the alttitude is aroud 3,500.Anywho it runs like crap,it's very sluggish especialy when ran for a bit, like it don't want to run.but when I open her up it seems to run o.k.I don't have any other mods.Does having the oil injection hooked up cause this?Maybe it's not mixing the fuel right?I'm getting nervous and thinking I might have to put back to stock. Thanks for any help,Ken

Did you change your clutching at all? You need to clutch a bike to the pipe. Did you do a plug check? It would help to know if it's rich. Oil injection should have nothing to do with your problem. Are you mixing fuel on top of using the oil injection? You don't want to do that. That would actually lean out your mixture. You want one or the other.

I didn't change the clutching, didn't think that would effect how the engine runs.I dropped the clip to the fourth slot like the instructions said.I'm trusting the oil injection but I'm gonna order the kit to do away with it and mix my own.

It affects how the engine runs while it's hooked up to the transmission. If you were to remove the drive belt you might find it runs better. A pipe is designed to HIT in a certain RPM range. You have to install a clutch kit that engages in that range. What pipe did you install? A top end pipe or race type pipe may not run worth a darn if you don't have a ported motor to match the RPM range the pipe was designed for as well. Where did you get the pipe from?

I'm guessing they suggested clutching to you. It would be irresponsible to sell you the pipe without a clutch kit, unless of course you did an internet purchase. When it says clutch required or recommended on the internet, they mean it. I expect this is gonna be your problem. Also don't worry too much about the injection system. As long as you keep it maintained you should have no problems with it.
