Default 800EFI service intervals"what do you do"

Just wondering: Owners manual says 100HRS OR 1000 MILES WHICHEVER COMES FIRST,SERVICE MANUAL SAYS 100HRS. 620 MILES (ODD NUMBER FOR MILES BUT IT"S IN THERE)WHAT DO YOU OTHER 800 OWNERS THINK...OIL & FILTER ARENT THAT EXSPENSIVE SO IM GONNA GO WITH THE SERVIVE MANUAL...
667 MILES ON MY 800 CHECKED THE OIL THIS MORNING DOWN BARELY TO THE ADD MARK.PUT JUST A SUP IN IT PUT IN THE SAFE AREA..ID IMAGINE SOME CONSUMPTION
DURING BREAKIN IS NORMAL,WHATS YOUR THOUGHTS...463 MILES ON THE OTHER 800 ONLY THING WEVE FOUND A MISS IS THE REAR TRANNY SEAL IS LEAKING A TAD..
WHICH WILL BE CORRECTED BEFORE NEXT RIDE AND ALMOST FORGOT THE BREATHER TUBE ON MY 800 ON THE ROCKER COVER THAT LEADS BACK TO THE AIR BOX
(BLOW BY TUBE IS WHAT WE CALL IT HERE)PROBALLY NEED"S TRIMMED AND RECLAMPED MADE A LITTLE MESS UNDER THE GAS TANK(CLEANED IT UP THIS MORNING)

iD APPRECIATE ANY FEED BACK...FOR FIRST YEAR MODEL AFTER SOME TOUGH TERRAIN AND THE MILES WE HAVE RUN ID HAVE TO GIVE THE 800 A 9.9 ON SCALE OF 10

I had my first service at 20 hours. Then again at 1000 miles which was about 80 hours. The mechanic told me to bring in every 100 hours. I just check my oil, check my boots, and keep my air filter clean. I just had my rear plastic replaced. The dealer added some heavy heat tape and did something to the plastic where it doesn't touch the heat shield anymore. I am getting ready to go to the Piute Trail in Utah later this month. I love my 800.

The manual gives the run down on things to do at the proper intervals. The fluid capacites of the diffs and trans aren't that much so I'm changing those also. I just changed them at the 500 mile mark.

Perky, The breather hose on mine had a slit cut in it about 1" long causing a nice little mess on the valve cover. I replaced the hose and the problem has gone away.
Check for this slit as mine was marked with white paint. I do ride in deep water sometimes and did not want water getting in the engine.

Arkansawyer, I will be staying at the Big Rock Candy Mountain resort Aug 11-14 Maby we will see ya there.
