I have a 2000 polaris xplorer 400 4x4. I just wanted to know how many people out there have a xplorer 400 also. I want to know if they have enjoyed owning them as much as i have mine.

I have a 1998 Xplorer400 and love it to death! It has gone through hell and back and is still going strong. Only a few glitches here and there. The only thing it needs is IRS and shaft drive. That would be awesome!

I own a 00 Xplorer 400cc.I feel it is a real deal in the versatile department of 4x4 quads. No other 4x4 quad offers the same bang for the buck like the Xplorer does.In fact, for me,I like it more than my 99 Sportsman. And it cost conciderable less to.I do somewhat miss the IRS on the Sportsman though. The Sportsmans biggest downfall was its weight of 700lbs,compared to the Xplorers 588lbs.Except for my chain, which requires alot of adjustments,I have not had any problems to speak of.I really enjoy the beast alot,

I've got a pair of 2000's. No troubles to speak of at all. Mine has 1200 miles on it. It's pretty well modded and the only thing its hard on is rear tires and brakes. Somthing to do with the gas on gas off driving style of mine I think. The wife's has a little over 500 miles and has not eatin any parts at all yet.

I have a 00 Explorer that I put Yellow Sportsman plastic on and 96 Graphics. It has been a great machine so far I love the power it has. I am getting a white primary spring also, I hope I will notice the Difference. My brother-in-law has a 96 400 sportsman and his is alot faster than mine I hope with the spring that I can Change that. I am getting sick of follwing his fat a$$.

How do you like your pipe? Did it add much to the seat of the pants feel of your Xplorer? How much did it cost?

Thanks

Andy~G,The Dynoport pipe definatly adds to the seat of your pants feel. It adds a ton of bottom end and mid-range without hurting the topend. Put it this way if your rear wheels find the traction you will be looking at the sky in high nrange quite a bit even with a winch! My stockers went completly bald really fast, about 400 miles with the pipe. It hits really hard when ever you hit the gas all the way to about 50. In short I love the thing! It's also not real loud like some others, a factory style welded pipe, fits very well and is lighter than stock. The only thing I don't really like about it is, it sticks out the rear about 2 inches and I'm afraid of rubbin it in the dirt doing wheelies! Oh, it also runs submerged very well. With spark arrestor it is about 300 bucks shipped to your door. how do you like your bearclaws? I NEED TIRES real bad!

Thanks for the quick reply. Ive been thinking about getting a pipe but I dont want one that is loud as hell. The dynoport sounds just like what Im looking for.

I LOVE my Bearclaws. I HIGHLY HIGHLY reccomend them to anyone that is looking for replacement tires. The stock tire roll so much that the handling was really crappy on my quad. With the Bearclaws thought the handleing was MUCH improved.
They are 4 ply and are a hellve lot tougher than the cheap azz stock ones. Also they actually steer easier than the stock ones did. So far I have about 900 miles on my bearclaws and they still look really really good.
They are much better in mud and like I said before i love mine and I highly reccomend them.
If i bought a new quad tomorrow, the first thing i would do is to order another set of Bearclaws.

I have a 00 400 with Bearclaws (best tires I have ever owned) frt. and rear Kimpex tube bumpers, air box mods, K&N filter w/outerware,Dynoport "cheater pipe", Boyeson power reeds, old style Ranger( top& bottom cogged) belt,HPD aluminum clutch buttons and steering stem bushing and clutch kit. I have owned several 4-wheelers including two other Polaris's and this is by far my favorite. No other utility type can touch it as far as speed and acceleration go. It is a great mudder and pretty good climber as well. All in all I'm real pleased with the machine.
