well i charged it on the 2amp trickle charger and put it in. the motor cranks but it just sounds like the battery is dead. we already got a new battery and we are going to charge that one and put it in and see what happens.

i used to have this problem all the time until i got the maintanance free battery. something happens to the acid in the battery and it will charge up while your riding and the starter will crank but after it sits overnight it loses its charge. i had my explorer apart for four months while i had my tranny rebuilt and had some trail mods done to the engine and the maitanance free battery started on one crank. with the acid filled battery it would have been dead for sure. they cost 20.oo bucks more but it's well worth it. i also heard it's not good for your stator to ride with a dead battery. anybody know if this is true or not?

I have had three batteries on my predator already, two of them had holes rubbed into the battery letting the acid come out, thet both had some charge but not enough. take the battery out of the quad and look of rubbed out holes in the plastic. both were rubbed in the back of the battery and started to wear on the bottom. check it out

I've had to change my battery as well. My dealer told me that sometimes the batteries short out.

I have a 05 sportsman now for 3 months and I went to start it yesturday and the battery was almost dead. After riding it awhile it started. Sounds like a problem some where.

You could get a full charge according to the meter but it wont start because there is not enough cranking amps in the battery. this ussually happens because something shorted it out if its a new battery.
