also im 95% positive the 38 fcr-airstryker uses the same slide as the PWK. atleast the part numbers are listed the same everywere I have seen, and show the slide to fit both.

Well it seems I haven a similar problem too. I have tried almost everything. I have been helped by amany people and I appreciate it. Here is the scoop.
HPD race mod and port
v force cage
twin air filter
39pwk, 35 pilot, eeg needle in middle, 172 main in northeast ohio, about 1000ft or less, 6.5 slide
Hpd race pipe
br9eix irridium plug
stock ignition
slightly retarded ignition
blue primary, 10-AL weights
custom HPD helix for HPD race chassis from Sled and violet secondary
HPD kevlar belt

I have made a good improvement but still having problems like a bog at just the start off from dead start. I have even removed the stinger to see if it was too restrictive , to no avail.

I have leaned the pilot, changed the timing, changed the plug, replaced the needle, adjusted the air-fuel mix screw, all to only help until fully warmed up. I noticed that while the machine is not fully, and I mean fully warmed up, it runs great out of the hole. When it gets warmed up to full temp, it bogs off the start. Why? and not all of the time? Too lean, or too rich? should I try the other slide like you guys? the 7? does it make it leanerr or richer?

These are the last two choices I have until I send myself and the machine over a cliff to solve my problems:
1. Try the br8 plug that runs hotter to see if it helps. I am worried about too much heat. I know of a couple people that use it and say they have no problems using it on a race mod. Darryl says no, how about anyone else?

2. Lean out the needle and see if it helps. Anyone else run the eeg race mod with the clip not in the middle or a half clip second down?
if so, how does it run? I can try it for a short burst to see if it helps but I wil have to get it up to full temp.

I am so frustrated here. I have this expensive moto-x machine that only gets the hole shot until it gets warmed up. I'm ready to throw it to the dogs and scream. By the way, you cant have it. LOL.

Hmm.... What made you use that line? Having Flashbacks from our Hatfield McCoy trip?

If they had suggestion boxes at Hatfield, Kahnman would be asking for bumpers to keep him on the trail....

Misery loves company I guess. I am having the same trouble with my Trailblazer. runs fine cold then after is it warm it has a midrange drag. If it getts hung up in mud or on a hill without having the engine at a high rpm it will dog out and stop. This really worries my wife. I had to rescue her off a few hillsides when it would not power up. I have no trouble getting up hills when I keep it in a high rpm and not let it spin down. Any help would be great. I must have adjusted the carb a dozen times on the trail. I am running the 150 main jet and went all the way up to clip position 4 and still no good. runs fine cold, but after it heats up It has the hesitation right before it hits powerband. Won't be able to test it better until the weekend.

Well Kahnman. I feel your pain. The 7.0 slide seemed to have helped me out quite a bit. If the bike seems to run good at colder temps and then stumbles after it warms up then I would say it may be a tad rich. How does your plugs look on WOT runs? Do you have a egt? I'm running a blue HPD primary with s55 weights and a HPD violet with 10-56 weights and really like them both so well I can't make up my mind. What secondary settings are you running? And the last question I promise... What's your elevation? I hope you find out what the deal is cause once you do you won't want another bike much less sell it.

My elevation should be around 100ft or less. The secondary is off a sled. It has the "Anad B" settings. I have it on B I believe. The other end is in the #2 spot. This I think is not the problem The engine does not want to rev up. This is before it even has a chance to move the clutches very much. I will move forward only about 5 feet until it revs up and takes off. WHen I had an EGT, until it stopped working. I was around 1300 If I remember right at FOT. I am going to a mx race Friday and I will try to lower the needle one clip to see. One race should not burn her up in such a short on and off throttle track. If it works, Maybe I wont kill myself. LOL!

Kahnman one thing to check is you said you did not have overflows. If your PWK is like mine, I have a tube off the bottom of the carb and its capped off at the bottom.

get some one else to use your throttle and look at the carb with the filter off from behind the bike, I bet you that you will see fuel coming up were the needle in the slide goes. Or put the carb in the boot. with the slide and top off and shake it around, fuel will begin trickling up and running around the carb. It may not be much, but its more then you could ever have come through the pilot jet.

I could as always be wrong but it sounds our overflows are the same and this is the porblem I am having. check it out.
