Default 500 Scrammy needle/seat fell out of carb

I was riding in Coalcreek this weekend and my Scrammy started running rough. Way to rich then it would start hard and used way too much gas. Took the carb apart and the seat fell out of the carb body. The only thing holding it in was an o-ring. O-ring was dried up. What kind of crap design was this. I ended up using an o-ring from a spare chain I brought and got it running again.

It is a '99 500 4x4. I try to promote Polaris wherever I go but wierd stuff like this that I can't plan for or prevent kills the reputation against all the kaws, suzys and yams. Even running like crap I was still able to do rough trails better than the two banshees though. Maybe not out run them but rough trail better.

Coalcreek is 5 hours from Dayton on exit 122 on I-75 in Tennessee. ATV sport did a small article in this months issue that doesnt do it justice. Coal creek is so much better than Haspen Acres in Indiana. We are tentatively planning to go again Thanksgiving weekend. If you are interested in going let me know. We were there with a group of about 14 riders all from this area. About five of us have Scrammy 4x4's, the rest are all the other brands. If you like technical stuff this is the place! AWESOME is all I can say. I live by the Dayton mall how about you?
