Default 425 Mag will not come out of 4x4 mode

I have a 97 425 mag and just had the cv axle replaced and while trying it out today I noticed that it does not come out of 4x4 mode. It runs fine but whether I have the 4x4 button engaged or not the front wheels lock in when the rear spins. I did the normal back up and all of that and it is fine till the rear wheels start to break loose and then the front locks in again.

Any ideas, I was wondering if maybe the switch could be bad???

It needs to be tightened to 18 ft lbs while rolling.
