Yes you would need a primary clutch puller.

This guy here tells how to make a cheap puller. Cheap puller.

I also have a homemade puller that works alittle different.

Not what I wanted to hear!
Is it a Polaris required tool, or could I make up a puller? How does it work? Does it pull on the clutch using some of the 6 bolts on the front?

Here is a pic of one. It only goes in the center bolt hole.

you need a puller for the primary and not the secondary.

Forgve me for asking, but how does that bolt looking thin pull the clutch off? I was expecting something that resembles a steering wheel/harmonic balancer puller!

the clutch is on a taped shaft(the crank). when you screw the bolt (puller) it bottoms out on the crank and when you keep tightening the bolt it actually pulls the clutch backwards hence popping it off the crank. then you just srew out the puller and your done.

Ok, I was working on it as you responded. I see it now. I wonder if I can get the correct diameter/pitch and buy a bolt?!?!?!

I have a 05 700 efi and decided to install the 800 clutch. Money well spent the low end power is SO much better now, we do everything on the bike dirt, mud, hills, farm etc. it is the best upgrade for the money IMO
