I use motorex 20-50 fully synthetic in my kawi and it seems to work well.

 

Rotella 15-40 dino in everything from a stock 5 horse Briggs to a BBC nitrous motor. I have never changed brands of oil and have never had an oil related failure with Rotella. We do use synthic oil in a round d round car. For what reason I don't know? I'm not paying the bills so we go with synthic in that to make the owner happy.

 

I did not read very post, are you over filling it?

 

well i don't overfill, as a matter of fact i only fill my cfm oil tank half way when i change the oil because after expandion it will be full or overful.

 

If you get expansions isnt that usually from water getting in your oil? Mine doesnt change at all.

 

NO, NO WATER IN MY OIL. it's clean oil. it gets hot and expands,,,I mybe running alittle hotter then normal because i'm still tunning the carb, so mybe that is why. It expanded before i modded my engine, and now after a complete engine rebuild.nothings wrong with the engine.

 

Sorry, I wish I could be of more help. But the only thing I could think of if its not water then its putting to much oil in it when changing oil. When changing the oil I put two quarts of oil in it then start the engine and let run for a minute then I check the oil level on the stick and add accordingly. When you change your oil not all the oil comes out of the engine, ussually about a quarter quart is left in the engine. To get 95% of the oil out of the engine I drain all the oil out then start the engine for 3 seconds and watch how much more oil will drain out. Leave the oil filter on when doing this though. Other than that I have no idea?

 

You mite want to switch oils if it expands that much. We fill my kfx up to the full level with motorex and it does not expand

 

hey there, my pred does the exact same thing. if you put it up to the mark, and then ride hard, nothing but a smoking runny mess all over the engine. i just quit filling it up completely. if i were to add one ounce to it right now, and its below add, it would do exactly the same thing till it got back down to where it is. Just find its happy place, and fill appropriately. It makes a guy look like an idiot with oil running over his engine.

 

you got that right. I can biuld a awesome engine but with oil coming out it looks like i know nothing.I may try something other then ps-4.
