From the rides ive been on with polaris, they are not really reliable. They have broken both times. But, its funny, my buddy who makes fun of polaris has an outy that in 600 miles has blown a strut, bad vr, and carb probs. haha, go figure.

My 04 Polaris 400 had quite a few problems, which made it not reliable, like when the rear boots kept ripping, I couldn't ride it because the dealer told it could damage something else worse, also in the winter time the gear shifter wouldn't move at times because it was frozen and I needed it to plow my driveway and I couldn't..that made me mad! The engine was reliable though.

seems to me that mine is reliable 2300 miles and no problems whatsoever, runs good just a little on the noisey side, starts up everytime and always makes it home

polaris reliability... now you got me started...

my scramber has roughly 3400+ miles on it... in the first 1500 the tranny blew, a cv joint blew, sheared a hub right off the axle... now just yesterday, the balljoint that i JUST checked the ride before blew at the bottom of a hill climb almost screwing us over... in the last week ive had to dump 500$ in it...

now its not only my scrammy... my dads sp700 snapped a steering post, ate a belt at 1100 miles... my dads friend doug blew a cv joint in 200 miles... my uncle on his sp400 has a blow rear end, 4wd doesnt work, and thats only at 2300 miles... our old sp500 blew a strut up at 1100, and the 4wd never worked after...

so as far as polaris reliability goes for me... ill NEVER buy another polaris again in my lifetime...

ive never had a single problem with any of my 2 polaris' (2000 500 H.O., 2005 800 EFI)the only problem i have had was i broke the stearing post on the 500 h.o. from hitting a log at 35mph, had to replace a boot on my 800, and i blew a belt on my 800 at 390 miles. as far as reliability is conserned, honda is the best for reliability, but i'll never own one. USA made all the way

and speaking of wich, my familys third polaris is going to be delivered on thursday, a 2006 Cross Country LE Predetor

all i can say is, you guys who have problems with your polaris's. You should write polaris on their web site. the reason why i say this is because polaris will fix defects for the next model year. They listen, they improve,we enjoy. I beleive polaris will be the best in the next few years.the test ride i was on was all about fixxing flaws.some ideams may even cross over. One secret is polaris may offer a new handle bar reverse switch to replace the ones on the 05 predator that everyone is breaking off. the same set up that is on the new outlaw. I know that they also changed the cv joints in the sportsman's.It's called a double offset joint it has a thicker boot and isn't supose to bined in anyway. POLARIS IS COMMITTED to fix their problems and it shows every passing year.

If they're really committed to fixing their problems they should make boot guards standard on their sportsmans, not the ones that only protect one side.
