I think Cabela's had L-shaped brackets to mount those flat packs off the rack standing upright on their side at the rear just behind the rack extension, might help....

The cheapest way is to use a small plastic gas can (or two) and hold it down with mini ratchet straps from wallyworld. Don't fill it up all the way and give it a quick check at rest stops.

You're right, the Quadovator can and mount is deffinately not for the 800 (kaboom!) I still have a flat fuel pack, would it be helpful if I gave you the dimensions?

Thanks. Gave me excactly what I needed. These brackets are also made by Kolpin, and I have meanwhile seen a pic from a user, which actually shows that the flat packs fit within the rack extender as well.
So if you get fanatic you can actually stack two packs on the front rack, one vertically on the rear and also mount two junior cans on each side of the rear rack, increasing your additional fuel capacity to 12.25 gallons. That would give you a long day of trail riding...

I was admiring the space below the fuel tank on my 05 sp500, and thinking ,seen as it appears to have a fuel pump, why not fab up a tank and mount it below the main tank. Run the outlet of the main to the aux tank, say mid way, vent the top of the aux up to the headlite pod or main tank vent if there is one, and hook the fuel pump to the bottom of the aux. Should be able to fill it through the main tank, although it may take a minute for the fuel to run through the line to the aux tank.
With 6 imp gals in a cubic foot , it should be possible to pick up close to 2 gals.
Anybody tried this?

I was looking at a MV7 today at the dealer. There rear tank looks like it could bolt right up if you wanted to remove the rear trapazoid box and run fuel lines. Oh yeah, you would have to cut a hole in the rack or be creative to refill the rear tank. I would consider this mod, except that space is occupied by a Warn 2500 lb winch.

The kolpin will fit on the front of the 800 with the rack extenders. We used eye bolts through the metal cannels on the front rack with big thumb nuts. works great
