Default Carb VS EFI ?

Well, living in Fargo your elevation ain't going to change any, however you do have VERY cold winters. Might be nice to have that EFI if you are going to do a lot of plowing or winter riding. I would get EFI.

If the battery is dead the Injection system wont work? What about the pull start?

Some EFIs have pull start including the 500EFI. The 700 does not. I am actually not sure how a pull start even works with EFI and a dead battery.

It should still be fine, as it would be no different then trying to start your manual EFI car with a dead battery by poping the clutch. You just need the battery to be there. I think the only exception to this is in the Arctic Cat snowmobiles, they have a batteryless EFI system and I have no idea how that works. Maybe with a very powerful stator or something...

If your EFI car has a completly dead battery it will not roll start. Your EFI quad will not pull start with a completly dead battery.

Are you sure??? I have done it many times with completly dead batteries. Thing was so dead the door light wouldn't even come on. Rolled down a hill, poped the clutch, away I went.
