i was wondering how i could check the timing, i have spark and i am getting gas but still no run. i have checked the flywheel key and it is fine, and replaced the cdi. all it does is backfire through the carb every now and then. this is whats got me wondering if it is the timing and it is firing at the wrong time. thanks[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]

 

My 96 xplorer 300 has done that several times. I eventually figured out that it was the carburator. So I took the carburator all to pieces, soaked it in paint thinner overnight, blew out all the little holes with a air compressor, and put it all back together and it started right back up.
