Not an ounce of animosity, just gettin the facts straight. Doug is a great guy, known him for awhile.
Just expected him to have the facts correct before posting he raced and beat one of our 80 hp bikes.
Which is definately not the case. Doug builds some of the fastest Preds around no doubt, but he did not race any of the Fast Robertson Bikes. They were on display in the building for the MotorCycle Rally, the kid got to borrow this bike to run the timers. I see where being nice gets ya. I'm sure Doug will agree this was a mistake and he was confused on what bike he was racing. There is only one 80hp bike around here and it's Black, not Blue.

However, there is a blue Robertson 727 with 80 hp thats been running in Thunder Valley doing incredible times with a wheelie bar. That guy lives in Kansas City though. He's on this forum but I can't remember his screen name.

If there was any misinformation I'm sure there will be a retraction. Hell I wish I had something that would run a 4.6 in 100 yards. I bet it's a rush!!!

Zombie, how do you know how I would do against him as I never got to race him , as he was taken out by my son on our TT bike(which you must have thought was me) and someone else. It was being told that the blue raptor won the Genoa drags this year, is that true or is it made up also.I made nothing up as I take everything for the truth that I am told by several people. Now that is no BS. If you have such a machine where has it been as there has been two races at this track, and two other times at a track not more than 30 miles from Omaha. If you noticed I ran the banshee twice and took him out, I ran my son once, and I ran the white Yamaha ( I let up on the third to 4th shift that run as there was no need to stress the motor on the last pass of the day for the win ). So I guess you are saying that everyone was telling people differant than it was as far as the blue raptor. What about the white raptor( I never ran him , but Matt did and won ) and the banshee, I was told what they were suppose to have. I really do not know what my predator has, as I was going to dyno three motors and I got pneumonia twice this year and it put me behind in the shop all year. I do a lot of testing with radar and the predator that I used to win with is not my fastest one. It is 2 mph slower than my best one in 100 yards. Anytime you want to race come on down to the shop and it will happen. I DO NOT BS, I race and not bench racing. NEXT time make sure you watch the machine I am on and not my son if you are saying things like I thought you would beat him worst. The machine Matt was on is 5 mph slower (in 100 yards) than the one I was on. Zombie, Please PM me with your phone # , thanks Doug

Doug, you have very good ET's on your Predator. A 4.6 in 300 feet in very fast no matter what you are on. I have seen a few 4.4 to 4.7 ET YFZ450's, A few 4.3 to 4.5 Raptors. A whole lot of 5.0 and up four strokes.

Zombie I do not think you should be calling this man out for a race......

Doug,

Good job! The preddy is certainly an under rated bike... you can't argue with a 4.6. It is what it is... fast!

Gonna go see what a semi-stock preddy will do next weekend. Lookin' forward to some go-faster parts for my bike... .

Ok, so the blue raptor had a 60 some hp motor, I was told this summer that the builder had an 80 hp raptor and it was blue ,and it won the genoa race. Then at the race I was told the blue raptor had 80 some hp and it was the one at genoa that won. I guess it is a differant blue raptor than the one Mark had at this race. This is my mistake as I should only state facts about my machines and times. This is a lesson well learned about forums and posting. Fact my son, Matt, raced both raptors and beat both of them at the race. Now that was with a TT setup motor , with nerfs, sway bar and extra wieght of the TT bike. He has ran 5'0s with this setup many times. The Predator I was racing is 5mph in 100 yards faster, consistantly and has raced raptors claiming sub. 4.5 second 100 yard times at southern tracks, and I have won rounds against them at Little Sahara Drag track ( when it was still racing) of course that track was uphill and the sand was rough and loose, so our times were not close to those times. I have also raced many banshees with strong motors ( I will not make any farther statement on how strong ) and won at the dunes. I did not start this post to make anyone mad and I apoligize if I did. Mark Robertson builds fast bikes of many kinds and I should have known that this was not the fast raptor we were told it was, but the rider was new to the bike and we thought that was why we were beating him. I do not go to the forums to often and I really just wanted some feed back on what were some good times in the country. Tracks varry a lot on times and conditions, but it is fun to compare to what is a good time in differant parts of the country and what type of bikes are laying down good times. If I ever do race this raptor and get beat, you can believe I will get back to work even harder to up the anty with my Predator. I am at the currant time having differant cams and cranks made to my specs. But as anyone that has ever tryed to develop his own stuff, it maybe a waste of money and time and could loose the power I am looking for(I have been down this road many times ) My currant setup has been running strong and has stayed together well for me, I take it to the dunes and ride it , plus then the same setup goes to the track. I do have another Predator that is not duneable and has lots of time in it. Last time at the dunes we took it but did not have to pull it out of the trailer, as we handled everyone with the duner( I will say it was at Easter and we did not see the high end four strokes that we sometimes do ). If you know me, when I get beat , I am straight up about it. Everyone gets beat sometime at certain tracks (new tracks that you have not figured out yet), when you do not have the proper setup or enough motor. I hope this clears up any confusion. Best of luck to everyone at the races, Doug Nicholas

Doug thanks for setting it straight. I like to say that there is NOONE who puts more effort and research into their machines than Doug. If you were a Yamaha dealer I would love to see what you could do to a Raptor but I know you are sponsored by Polaris. An let me say to the Polaris owners if you have never seen one of Nicholas Cycles Preds you are missing out. There are VERY fast and very Sharp. Doug you need to get a Gallery up to show them off. Nicholas Cycle builds the fastest Polaris's anywhere, PERIOD. We all have known Doug for years around here and he will Travel anywhere to race anyone. Now after all this our camp better be on our A-Game.
