Default Greasing rear axle bearings...

Reading the service manual it says lubricate eccentric housing...until grease is purged on each side of the eccentric. Does this mean that when there is enough grease in there I'll be forced out on both sides of the bearing housing? I've pumped a fair bit of grease in there thru the nipple but don't see any yet...does this area just take a LOT of grease? Where exactly will I see it when it is full - will it come out between the housing and the disk on one side and between the housing and the chain sprocket on the other?
Thanks for any advice,
Chris

Anyone? I'd like to know as I've already had to replace the rear axle bearings once, and that was after only 4 months use. According to the dealer it was becasue all of the grease had disappeared...
