Anyone have problems using their filter on the EFI units? There is some chatter about it but not sure. TIA

Aklim69....I know you responded to my thread a couple weeks ago about my idle problem on my 2005 700 efi. Up until my ride in the severe dust I had no problems with the K&N, but it did cake up bad from the dust. Hey by the way.......do you know if the 2005 700 efi's have a fuel reserve? because I don't know of one.

Usually I would say not since you have a valve set to on or off. Also once you use up your fuel the gauge will flash or so they say. That would be your reserve, so to speak which ns not really a reserve, IMO

No problems with my K&N, I've got around 700 miles on it.

Thanx. I just heard it on another forum and do know that it does contaminate the MAF unit in cars which you can clean easily so I wanted to check.

air filter oil does contaminate MAF sensor on automobiles
you will notice a lack of power
cleaning them is easily done with a air intake cleaner

I'm not familiar with what is in a quad so don't ecpect to be able to clean them based on what is said here

As far as I can see, the only thing that could be affected is the Mass Airflow Sensor which is betewen the air box and the throttle blade. In a car, I would clean that with electric motor cleaners.
