good deal on 00 scrammy 4x4 race mod, what do you think?

i was asking my dealer if he got many scramblers with bad engines so i could build one and he said he had a better deal. he had a 00 scrammy 4x4 hpd race ported, .040 wisco piston, 39pwk, v-force 2 reedcage, k&n drop in, gutted airbox, hpd race pipe and silencer, race lightened flywheel, billet starter and oil injector block off, hpd hard motor mounts, hpd clutch kit, fox shocks front and rear, aftermarket seat cover, shock covers for $1800. it still has the stock head with stock compression though. this doesn't effect realiabilty does it?

Man that's a good deal. Where is this bike at I may want it? If it has stock compression than it will probably run good but you could shave .020 off of the head and run premium pump gas and it will run great!

that is sweet...i'd buy it even if it was a hunk of junk...for 1800 bucks if it blows up or something u can always just tear it down and rebuild it, thats really cheap

hey Dunaholic, it's in my garage.i jumped all over it. the only thing i can see it needs is one cv boot. and maybe a arm bushing. it looks like it might just need to be tightened. the plastic is cracked at the bolt holes in a few spots but other than that its fine. it screams. i thought my trail ported explorer was quick. all i can say is wow. i think i'm gonna leave the head stock for now till i get used to it. i'm probably going to make it a drag bike eventually. well i can say one thing, the right tires make all the difference in the world. it hooks up like a champ. my explorer has itp 589's and it spins them easily when you peg it. this bike has tires i've never heard of. i think there called real sports. there reversable for sand and mud, or hard pack. there very nice. they have ***** on the side of the tire too. the wife wasn't real thrilled after putting all the money i put into my explorer, but she knew i wanted a race atv too eventually and when i wrote down what all the mods it had would cost me she kind of came around.

i got a question about the pipe, it lays against the snorkel for the crankcase and is melting it. will that be a problem? should i relocate it? i've never heard anybody mention anything about this before. i think it's done melting it though becuase you can't smell it burning so i think it's as melted as it's gonna get.

WAY TO GO MAN!!! Congratulations. You did the right thing. It sounds like a good deal to me. That's probably a good idea on leaving the head like it is for now. Just ride till you get used to it like you said. That is so very common about the bolt holes. Before I cut my plastic I had like 3 or 4 cracked holes.
I'm not sure about the snorkel thing you are talking about. It's for the crankcase? Maybe it's 4X4 related.?

way wiser too get it like it sounded to be,congratulations,,
yes you'll see some output with the scrambler 400 jug, beside it is the same motor as the explorer, just timing and some jetting differences.
be aware of the gas you'll use meanwhile,as soon you put 14.5 or higher dome head in it with 110 race gas you won't beleive your eyes,,
the power shouldd increase furhter then..
