Default creeping

I'm having some problems with my 700 creeping. Looks like the belt is riding on the outer primary sheave and causing the creep. I have added up to 5 washers behind the secondary no luck and I have took all the washers out and no luck. I have tried 3 different belts and no luck. Does this mean I need to shim the spider for more sheave clearence?

You should have the tool to set the alignment, if the engine mounts are ok you may have to shift the engine in the frame to correct the alignment. Is this the 800 clutch your using? My 800 creeps a little cold, I had shifting issues when new and my belt also rode against the outter shieve but reshimming the secondary cured the shifting issue....

I'm using a NON-EBS primary from a 500 Scrambler on my 700. When you shimmed your secondary did you add shims or remove them? I'm also using a EBS belt and could be some of my problem. Some one told me the EBS belts are a little thicker than the NON-EBS belts.

I removed 2 thicker shims and installed one thinner one, I don't remember what they measured. You need to move the driven clutch in closer to the trans or the engine left in the frame if the belt is tight against the outter primary shieve. The front engine mount is slotted for adjustment. What is the belt side clearance in the primary and the belt deflection measurements? Why the ebs belt with no ebs?

I have tried to tweak the motor over but it still rubs the outer primary sheave. Can the trans be moved over? I thought I would try the EBS belt and see if it worked. I have a NON-EBS belt orederd and it will be here tomorrow. I can squeeze the belt down is the secondary (making it longer and looser in the primary) and the creep goes away. Maybe the NON-EBS belt is thinner and will help.

I don't know about the trans for sure but I don't think it is adjustable in the frame. The ebs belt may be shorter than the non ebs as the center to center distance between the clutches is the same on both. Ebs runs a tight belt-no deflection whereas the non needs deflection 1 1/8" or so....

I will update tomorrow and let you know if the NON-EBS belt helps. I think it will.

what do you mean by creeping? at idle its wants to move? is the idle set too high? a friend of mine has a 700 and idle was too high and wanted to move at a stop, or should i say it would'nt stop.
