Default To remove the muffler...

... I just take out the two bolts and then the springs? Mine is a little rusty and I have some rustoleum High heat to spray it with. I just want to do the muffler, the exhaust pipe looks bad and is not visible. Unless it is easy to remove?

Thanks, ty

yep, i took mine off so much that it doesnt fit right anymore

but i painted the header silver 3 times, it's lasted along time this time tho

if ur going to spray anythign on it i suggest doing ur best to get as much of the rust off as u can right now and then making sure what ever u spray on can withstand at least 1200 degrees cuz i put 900 degree header paint on there and it flaked right off

In my hand I have rustoleum 1200* grill paint, I'm thinking that will work. It's black, so everything should look nice and new again. Is it wort removng the header pipe?

I'm gonna take a wire brush drill to it and scratch everything off. The matte-finish rustoleum usually holds on pretty well though, as it has no shiny surface and doesnt peel.

Well the deed is done, it looks pretty good. I haven't put it back on, I want it totally dry. And I ran the engine for about 5 seconds to pull forward into the barn. Sounded sweet . I didn't think five seconds would hurt anything.

And when I asked before, I just meant for a moment, I didn't mean I wanted to go out riding without a pipe .

I would definently scratch it with some scotchbrite paper. Then it will last for a very long time.

You mean as prep? I took a wire brush drill bit to it before I sprayed it; I think it's gonna be pretty durable.
