Technically they were dead wrong because they said power on every stroke, not every cycle. One full revolution is TWO strokes, one up, one down. It's not making any power at all on the compression stroke like they said. I know a LOT of other stuff happens on each stroke, but it's less complicated to just use one word like "power". Maybe I should have said "compression" stroke instead of "exhaust" stroke, but that's not accurate either, since there's no compression until the piston covers the ports again. I said exhaust partly because I was taught that most of the exhaust is expelled when the piston starts back up and FORCES it out under pressure, not when the exhaust ports are first uncovered on the down stroke. Exhaust/compression stroke??? Not that it really matters. It still only has power on one stroke out of two, not every stroke, and they should know that. That's the only point that I was trying to make. It was 30 years ago when I learned how to work on them, so maybe I should take a refresher course in engine theory. Or maybe I'll just have a few more drinks and forget about it.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, Amsoil is good.
