Hello, I own a 2000 400 4x4 Scrambler, I decided to "Go all out" with it but not to the point of needing racing fuel. What do you guys suggest I do, and Who do you guys suggest I go to for parts and machining?

I owned a 1990' Suzuki LT500 and sold it to buy this Scrambler....So you can understand my expectations I have towards this rebuild!

I just put on an HPD Trail Pipe with clutching I got from Ritter Cycle Racing. I took it out for the first time today, and the jets and spring he sent out for my 2000 Scrambler 400 were right on the money. He definitely knows these machines. Good luck!

 

I've got the HPD exhaust and clutch kit and it's great. My wife can beat my ds650 until 3rd gear and then I feel like taking the clutch kit off her quad

Thanks to all for now, I'll be calling him hopefully today and I'm glad to here these 400's have some potential! I really miss my LT500R...That thing had 70+ horse power with just a pipe, filter, and jet.

jimmypsp700, the picture of your GF on the 400 could be worth a thousand words[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img], but I was curious about the silencer. I would like my 400 quieter and I also have a TB 250 that has the same pipe and it's even louder.
.040 over and .020 off the head, any problems with just premium?

 

No problems, it runs great on pump premium 92 + octane.
If you go any more on the head or race mods that would be different.


You could always use a stock silencer, Rick said I would not loose much if at all.
I'm not sure what others would be quieter.
I have a few vids you could hear it on.

o k i see,you need to go HPD race mod and it will deliver what you're looking for,but you need to remove ALOT of weight on the thing to get max
output speed and acc.,all the folks who heard my scrammy tell it sound like a zilla kind
of sound,who known,but with higher ignition output i really tell you
it is close in the performance department.
