I am planning a trip with a 2003 TB 250, and I was wondering if the stock 3.5 gal. gas tank will last on a trip approx 50 miles. I know there are many variables, but I will be just riding the trails, very little WOT.Should I carry any extra fuel, or will I be OK? Thanks, Curt

 

Good question. I'll be interested to find out for myself.

If I was to GUESS I would say about 55 miles per tank plus like 10 miles on reserve. Again thats just a guess. I really have NO clue.

I think you will be just fine. I used to be able to get 80 miles per tank on my Scrambler 500 (it had a 4.2 gallon tank) and I rode pretty agressively with AWD turned on.

we ride a 70 mile orv route with our tb at mostly 3/4 OT & will just make it or will be in eye site of the
trailer when we put it on reserve. witch figures to 20 miles to the gallon. this is mostly sandy trail
with some hills, maybe 25%, the rest is flat or small grade hill. u should be fine on your trip.

 

We did a 60 mile trip around Glamis, some sand, some hard packed and never used reserve.

 

The TB should get from about 65 to 80 miles depending on how you ride.

About 75 used to be average when I rode them.
