all this talk about upgading to an 800 [rimary for the lower starting ratio
sounds like a good plan to me!!!!
I have seen guys ask about weather or not they will fit a 500
I would say yes as polaris doesn't seem to ever change the taper on their cranks
but to be sure if you want a low ratio clutch for your 500 or smaller machine ....... use a RANGER clutch
they start out a lower ratio as well

I am very impressed with the 800 primary on my 700 efi it will spin my 26" outlaw mst no problem anytime i want to, make sure to check the belt to sheave clearance before installing the 800 clutch mine was way off.
