Hello All,
I have tried to search for this but I couldnt find what I needed, so please fovgive me is this has been covered before.
I just got my new SP800 and took it for the first ride yesterday, and I loved it. However, I am a huge guy, 6'3 375lbs., and I need a stiffer suspension. I read about some people putting spacers on but I would really prefer stronger coils.
does anyone know of a company making stiffer coil springs for the sp800s?

I believe your dealer should have two levels of stiffer springs. One will be made for the addition of a winch and is just a little stiffer. The other is alot stiffer and will be quite a bit more money and a really rough ride.

first thing...you must be talking about the front springs? the rear springs have preload adjustable springs and it can stiffen the heck out of them....

if you really want stiffer springs, go with the ones that are in the Polaris Military Vehicle, the are stiff.....

remember though, when you go stiff you affect your handling characteristics.....I adjusted my rear up two notches to get the wobble out of the front end with the large 27" mud tires....

 

Well, actually I was talking about the rear mainly. I was hittin a lot of rocks that werent very big. Also, my friend riding behind me said that every time I hit the throttle my rear end sunk so far that the middle of the frame was about 3-4 inches below center, meaning my rear supension looked like a "v" instead of normal.

I have not adjusted the rear sus yet because there just didnt look like there was much adjustment, and I need a lot more pre-load than it has right now. this rear on this thing is squating more than my rincon and that thing has the softest suspension I have even ridden.

I want it to ride correctly for my weight, Im not looking for a ride thats so rough it feels like im on my predator.....

just did this last week for a friend of mine that is of similiar size. I took his rear up two "clicks" and that was okay but he was very happy after I took it up another click. He is about 350lbs and said that it still wasn't that rough.

a buddy o mine just did that very same thing,,,,

hes a big guy as well, and his wifes likes to ride with him,,, so the stock suspension, adjusted all the way stiff, wouldnt handle the both of them too well. so he bought the MV springs for the rear and loves it. with a little stiffer rear suspension, he really likes the control and handling of the machine better when he rides by himself. (we do alot of tight fast woods trail riding)

it was a pretty affordable upgrade. i think he said it was around $30 per spring.

Thanks for the info, I will try adjusting the rear first, and if more is needed I will get the MV springs. I am assuming the MVs will fit the SP800??

Just wondering...does the SP 500 have adjustible rear suspension. If so how do I adjust it.

Yep, there is a notched preload adjuster under the spring. If you look, you can see it at the bottom (maybe top, I forget) of the spring. To adjust it, you need a preload wrench. I forget if the sportsman's come with them in the toolkit. It should.

 

And for the original question, I believe the dealer offers "HD Rear Springs" as well. I got HD fronts because my stockers were really sagging.
