Default What paddles for RCR 400 sport

Hello, what are you 400 sport / scrambler owners runing for paddles. I have 20 x 10 x 8 with 10 paddle sand skat II. It seems that I do a lot of spinning. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Look for one in the 22x size. You have the power and torque to turn them. Most every one will have their own opinion, but the Sand Stars are great tire and value. SkatTraks in just about any paddle they make are great tires. Look for them in haulers, taller haulers, extremes, egdes, and rippers. Dune Runners from Kenda are also a good value and decent performer. Straight paddles will give you good straight line traction for racing, but are extremely slideable for donoughts and stuff. V paddles will give good traction straight and help you stay up while side hilling, running bowls, and trails.

I'm in total agreement with Fishlab. I think the 22's are a must for a Scrambler.

I agree with the two above, they are the authorities.

I know a lot of people dont like the Geckos, thats what i have in 21" and they do seam to be lacking a little.
Maybe the new 10 paddle 22" geckos would be better.

After checking your sig, if your just drag dracing you can probably run 22" all the way to 25" tires. You've got plenty of power and the extended swing arm. Skat Trak has a 23" tire that may be a good match for you. They have it just about all their paddles styles.

If you are gonna be mainly drag racing.Go with the triple buff's 22x11x8.In either a 9 or 8 paddle.

Thanks for the reply. I bought the bike this way, love the pull / power/ride. We mainly ride the sand dunes out here, Sand Mountain Nev., Pismo, and hae been to the Oregon Sand Dunes at Coos Bay and Winchester Bay, would like to go more however, it's like a 10 hour ride for us, and it is tough on the little ones. I have a couple of buddies who seem to always beat me to the top. They ride 660 Raptor, worked honda 450, and work 250R three wheeler. Don't get me wrong, we are all very close. I have only had the bike out about 6-8 times, and I think I need to get more of the power to the ground, it seems to spin alot. Thats why I was wondering what everyone else is running on their Sport/Scrambler 400s. I guess I will try 22+.

If you like racing to the top and don't mind giving up a little turning capabilites then the ones CED recommended are the ticket. I wouldn't go any larger than 9 paddles.

I have the same setup. I'm not thrilled with them, but they're better than nothing. Makes the quad look kinda funny with stock 23's in the front and 21's in the back. If I don't start out just right, I can bury the back end in soft sand pretty easily. In fact, I learned pretty quickly to never come to a stop on even a slight incline up.
Anyway, I get to try it again in Waynoka next weekend!
