Default Versatrac and other stuff...

While reading the Polaris Escape magazine from Fall 2005 I was reading about the new Sportsman X2 (2 seater). It mentions that it has Versatrac which gives you the ability to unlock the rear differential by selecting Turf Mode. You can also select 2wd or AWD. Why hasn't this feature been made available on all the Sportsmans. When I asked this question a few months back of my Polaris mechanic, he said that it was only available at that time on the ATP because it didn't have IRS. But now I see that it is available on the new X2 which does have IRS. Also the magazine mentions that the X2 has "a new front wheel backdrive system provides outstanding control on downslopes". What's up with that?? Some type of EBS function for the front? Why hasn't this feature made it to the rest of the Sportsman line-up? Inquiring minds want to know!

VERY good question! anyone??

maybe Polaris is saving that improvement for the 2007 Sportsman line up. afterall, if they gave it all to us in one year what would they upgrade to the next?.....

just a thought!

I'm surprised by the lack of interest, especially the front EBS or whatever it is!

LOL, Andy.. I don't think anyone is not interested. It appears no one knows the details of it. I am quite interested in knowing what this means. However, I have searched the web and I can find no details about the FWD on the X2.
