OOPS...I hit enter before I finished my question. Anyway what kind of gas mileage should I expect out of a 2004.5 SP 500. It seems that I am only getting like 40 to 50 miles to a tank. I do ride with dirtbikers so I always have it wound up pretty good, but shouldn't I get a little bit better than that.

Running in high on good roads I have gotten as good as 90 miles on a tank....

 

 

well my friend has a 500 polaris and he gets 12 to 15 mpg..so sounds like your on or better than average to me

 

the 500 H.O. motor should be getting around 100 miles per tank if your just putsing around, running the **** out of it you should get maybe 50 to 60

 

if you hammer the throttle for alot of the time while riding, thats about what you will get....on my '05 700 EFI, if I ride about 30 mph on dirt roads, just cruising, i get anywhere between 75-100 miles on a tank....depending on the road and incline/decline.
